Heavy Hands is an anti-bullying initiative by Heavy Heads Records. The goal of Heavy Hands is to introduce bullied kids to a form of self-defense, and to teach them confidence and self esteem. We'll do the same for bullies, as we teach them that there are healthy ways to get rid of their aggression. 

 

We've partnered with local gyms who believe in our project, and who provide a culture of respect and zero tolerance for bullying at their gyms. Our goal is not to teach kids to fight, our goal is to teach kids about fighting, and why it should always be the last option in any disagreement. We will also teach kids things they can do to self regulate, and take care of their nervous system when they get stressed out.

Public school administrations do their best to combat bullying, but with so many kids to watch over, and so many other duties, anti-bullying is hard to prioritize. Well meaning staff just hope the problems will go away, and sometimes they do. However, sometimes the problems persist for way longer than they ever should, considering that bullying is unnecessary to begin with. We want to help take the pressure off of school staff, while offering them education as well.
