It is with a heavy heart that we share news from the comedy community. Kenny DeForest, a cherished member known for his wit and charm, tragically met with an accident while riding his bike last weekend. Our fellow comedian found himself caught in a serious situation.
In a testament to the deep bonds within the comedy family, a GoFundMe campaign was swiftly launched to alleviate the burden of Kenny's medical expenses. The response was nothing short of overwhelming, with over $165,000 pouring in from nearly 1,900 compassionate souls.
Regrettably, our dear Kenny passed away on December 13th, 2023 at Kings County Hospital, surrounded by loved ones. In his final moments, stories of his childhood, favorite tunes, and memories of his contagious positivity filled the room. Even in his passing, Kenny chose to give the gift of life through organ donation, continuing to impact others positively.
Kenny, a Missouri native, was renowned for his contributions to the New York comedy circuit and his appearances on esteemed platforms such as Comedy Central, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Late Show with James Corden, and HBO’s “Crashing.” His second comedy special, “Don’t You Know Who I Am?”, released on his YouTube Channel in August, showcased his comedic brilliance.
Friends and fellow comedians have poured out tributes, reminiscing about shared car rides and the joy Kenny brought to every interaction. His smile, infectious spirit, and genuine warmth will be sorely missed.
As we reflect on the loss, we invite you to join us in celebrating Kenny's life. Though he may be physically gone, his legacy lives on through laughter, memories, and the positive impact he made on countless lives.
